R U OK?
Font and Poster Design
“R U OK?” is a critical design project that confronts the education system’s rigid standardization through distorted typography. Schools reduce complex individuals into "good students" defined by a narrow framework—symbolized here by the 26 letters of the alphabet—while suppressing the thousands of unique personalities that exist beyond it. To visualize this systemic erasure of individuality, I created a custom typeface where each letter is warped by the distorted faces of students, mirroring how institutions force conformity. The grotesque, fragmented forms protest the hypocrisy of "accepting difference" within strictly policed limits, turning typography into a metaphor for institutional control. This project challenges viewers to see the human cost of homogenized education and imagine alternatives that celebrate, rather than flatten, identity.
