"Slice of Us" is a deeply personal comic series born from my elective studies in comic theory, where I documented real moments from my life and friendships through the language of sequential art. Applying Scott McCloud’s principles of closure between panels, I turned a museum visit, happy moments with my bestie, and my daily schedule—using exaggerated expressions to capture inside jokes, and silent panels to hold emotional weight. The pages are a diary in ink: messy, honest, and alive with the theories I learned (like Eisner’s sequential storytelling and the gutter’s power), but always rooted in the raw, unfiltered truth of our shared youth.
